The Academy honors deserving facilities for outstanding traditional and QIS surveys
With the QIS survey process now in full swing, the Academy recently started tracking award-winning facilities to determine if they were surveyed by the traditional survey or QIS (Quality Indicator Survey). "We want to start gaining some insight into the impact of the QIS on the survey process," said the Academy's Executive Director, Victoria Gresh.
When asked how Academy members feel about the QIS, Gresh responded, "The QIS is focused more on resident, family, and staff interviews, but our members are always up for a challenge. Whether it's the traditional survey or QIS, these members have surpassed the benchmark with flying colors. Several of the award-winning facilities were surveyed using QIS, and that shows that our members are the best of the best, regardless of the survey process."
The Academy of Senior Health Sciences, Inc. presents three types of awards to member facilities:
